Harm and I were driving back from Barrie this afternoon and started thinking about how many songs there have been with cars either as the main theme or mentioned. A significant song for me is one that very few have heard of. Ballad of Ole’ Betsy is a song by the Beach Boys that was only released on their Little Deuce Coupe album in September of 1963. I’ve always liked it so much that I named my dog, Betsy, after the song! A few more songs to get this rolling are:
Little Deuce Coupe by the Beach Boys (deuce coupe and Thunderbird)
American Pie by Don McLean (drove my Chevy to the levy…)
Take It Easy by the Eagles (It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford…)August 14, 2015 at 2:22 pm #1957Barb van der VeenParticipantYou can check out Ole’ Betsy on YouTube if you’ve never heard it!!
